Do questions about the paranormal increase after ghost hunting shows air?
Are these shows causing people to wonder about the possibilities, or using the power of suggestion, about unexplained activity? For example: an investigator gets scratch marks and says he can’t explain how they appeared. Now questions about scratch marks suddenly appearing are being asked. Did the action on the show make the askers wonder about an event that happened to them, or just make them think that something normal is now paranormal?
Sorry if I’m not getting this out clearly.

People talk about things they relate to so it makes sense if a show talks about similar experiences that those who have experienced it will then post questions about it

Yes, in very much the same way as questions about “I think I am a vampire please help” appear straight after Twilight movies are released.
Whats with kids today huh?

Well, there’s nothing “normal” about unexplained scratches appearing on one’s body…..but of course watching a show will increase your knowledge and make you think…..you learn what to look out for and what is a sign as opposed to a normal occurrence due to environmental factors…..If you find something on the floor that was on the edge of a shelf the night before you might check GOOGLE EARTH to see if a tremor hit in the middle of the night….or if you have cats that like to jump up and walk the counters and tables in the night, then they might be a factor to consider…..but usually if it’s paranormal it is or will be accompanied by other signs eventually…..so, kick back , enjoy and learn….keep an open mind, because nothing is set in stone except the stone itself…….
Why does Yahoo NEVER direct my questions on the paranormal to this category, they almost always get directed?
to the mythology and folklore section! Also it seems to me that the only way to have a question directed to this category is to put the actual word paranormal in it, hence all of the questions about the movie Paranormal Activity in this section.

I guess it directs to M&F because it is a higher traffic section. And yeah most of the questions are about that movie. I was going to see it, but i have seen too many spoilers by people who put it in the actual question, not even in the additional details.

I do know what you mean, being this is my favorite category I check back time to time to see if there are any new questions posted here and I have found that most of the time they are only directed here as you say,if you title it with paranormal or if it has anything to do with a ghost or haunting.I have however found questions in the mythology category too.You can try the word haunting in your posts and see if it gets you anywhere.I just always check both category’s on this subject.

Ask a question and hit continue. You will see a category box. At the bottom is “or, select from a complete list”. Hit that and navigate to the correct category. Problem solved.

You haven’t tried getting into the R& S section recently then ?
Well since you didn’t say what your question was I don’t know.
However, the more you research the paranormal the more you will find that the paranormal and mythology and folklore are all interrelated. Sometimes the ancients and country-folk weren’t as stupid as we want to believe they were
